Virginia is a trained journalist with nearly 15 years of experience covering travel, arts & culture, food, home & design, business, and more.

On assignment, Virginia has written a first-person travel piece for The Washington Post, shared the story of the family farmers who grow the Biltmore Estates’ Christmas trees for Southern Living, and explored Charlotte’s museum mile for Our State magazine.

Eno Publishers selected her Charlotte magazine feature story, “Rooted: Trees are the Soul of Our City” for the collection, 27 Views of Charlotte: The Queen City in Prose and Poetry.

Virginia develops creative content for large and small brands and helps companies create engaging, effective newsletters, and corporate and sponsored content.

Recent brand and sponsored content clients have included Atlas Obscura, Best Western International, and Arkansas Tourism.

In a former role, Virginia led PR and communications for Charlotte’s largest performing arts nonprofit, the Charlotte Symphony, and saw the organization through a mission overhaul and subsequent brand development. Under her strategic communications leadership, the organization’s social media reach nearly quadrupled and collaborative visibility projects gained international attention from outlets from NPR and Fox Sports to CNN.

As a staff editor for Where Traveler and Charlotte magazines, Virginia developed creative feature packages and oversaw all travel content. She also created, contributed to, and assigned writers for the feature “50 Things Every Charlottean Should Do,” the most popular magazine digital story to date at the time of publication.

She has a sharp eye for consistency and has performed editing services for alumni publications, children’s stories, and sales books, among others.
